WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO NYSC CAMP
This
is to notify all the NYSC Batch B, 2015
corps members that there are some certain things needed to be bring along with
them before coming down to the camp. All this will be necessary to avoid excess
spending in the mammi market.
It
might be a surprise when i said mammi market.. This is a place where they sell
all kinds of things like; Nysc accessories, Foods, Drinks, Soap and more. That
can be used for the 28 days of camp activities. There are some things that is
regarded as waste and it will all be seized by the state coordinator of the
camp or camp commandant.
I
am about to list necessary things to bring and the waste.
THINGS I CAN TAKE TO CAMP
1. Extra 1 Tennis: At the camp there is a jungle boot with 1
tennis to be given, bring one extra makes it 3 shoes.
2. Two Short Nickers: In the Nysc camp, they will be given 2
pieces of short, that makes it 4 short. That is enough for a corper.
3. Tooth Paste: They sell this in the camp, but it is very
expensive in the Mammi market, I swell just try to buy your paste from home.
4. Toothbrush: This also can be bought in the Mammi market as I have
said earlier that it is more expensive.
5. Mosquito Net: It is very compulsory to have this because the
camp is very open to mosquito’s to welcome all the corpers is a risk to the
body.
6. Pen & Book: If this is at home, then bring it and if not
buy from home and bring it to the camp because there is lecture 2, meaning
after all lecture 1 at school, still be prepared for another lecture in camp.
7. Gum & Stapler: This will be used during your first
registration at camp, purchasing it in camp or trying to borrow might be a
delay.
8. Bucket: They sell this in most camps for 300-350 Naira only,
people still bring from home and some buy in the camp.
9. Round Neck: buy your round neck from home just a single pack
is okay, there is additional 3 round necks here in the camp.
10. Provisions: Bring this from your house when coming over to
camp is very expensive there in the camp.
11. Pad Lock: it is necessary to lock your bag if in case
corpers are needed on the parade ground or Mammi market.
12. Blanket: Some Nysc camp does not have doors or windows and
it might be cold, so there is a need to cover your body.
13. Cash: Money is needed in the camp and be informed that when
coming it compulsory to budget 15000-20000 Naira for an average person. But if
your spending is uncontrollable and do not like eating any how restaurant food,
bring more money to the camp.
THINGS NOT NEEDED IN THE CAMP
1.
Sucks: Do away with sucks, do
not take sucks to the camp, even the Nysc sucks is not allowed it will be
seized.
2.
Knife Or Blade: The soldiers at the
gate entrance will collect this from people because cooking is not allowed.
3.
Bulk of Cloths: It is an
offense to wear house wears, it can only be allowed on Sundays that means
church things.
4.
Long Nicker’s: They will take
this from your bag and cut it too short with scissors if not careful.
DOCUMENT NEEDED BEFORE ENTERING NYSC CAMP
1.
Statement of Result: First
this is to be very ready in your bag when coming down to the Nysc camp.
2.
School Id: Your school ID
card is either new or old, I mean either the one used in your 300 level it can
still be acceptable in the Nysc camp.
3.
Passport: Just 10 of your
recent passport is okay, but the new development is that they should be in
white background.
4.
Call up Letter: The call up
letter printed out from the internet should be intact.
That
is all needed to be a successful corper in respective of your camp. I hope to
enjoy your stay, but that will be at the end of the NYSC camp, maybe after
three weeks in the camp. But the first day is like hell.
